One
of the truck loading bays
95%
of Monarch cement is shipped
in bulk trucks or rail hopper
cars. An operator in a control
room located between the scales
selects the specified type
of cement for the truck or
rail car which is then loaded
and weighed on automated scales,
with the weights printed on
the bill of lading. It takes
six to eight minutes to load
a truck holding 25 to 28 tons,
and about thirty minutes to
load a rail car holding 100
tons.

It
takes just seconds to fill a bag
which is automatically check-weighed,
counted, and put on pallets. The
pallets are then forklifted onto flatbed
trucks. Over 750,000 bags of Monarch
Portland Cement and Monarch Masonry
are packaged during a year.
